Voith Industrial Services Team wins two awards as it raises over £ 4,000 for charity

A team from Voith Industrial Services, a leading service provider to the automotive and transport  industries, raised over £4,000 for charity over the weekend – and won two awards at the same time.

The three-man team finished seventh out of 18 teams in the Four Peaks Challenge. They
climbed more than 14,000 feet to the summit and back of the highest peaks in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland in a total time of 48 hours 19 minutes.

Their climbing time of 17 hours, seven minutes and 31 seconds won the award for the fastest veterans’ team.

The Warwick-based company was represented by managing director, Paul Nicholson, sales and business development manager, Adam Hart, and regional manager, Martin Dunne.

The driver, contracts manager Phil Rickhuss who also climbed the last peak, drove over 2,000 miles in a Ford Galaxy ferrying the team from the starting point at Fort William to Ben Nevis, and onto Helvellyn, Snowdon, and finally Carantouhill in Ireland.

The Voith Industrial Services team also won the “Best Dressed Vehicle Competition.” A unique livery, designed by Signs Express of Warwick, included humorous caricatures of the team members physically deteriorating from the start to the finish of the gruelling event.
“The event was exceptionally tough and exhausting,” said Paul Nicholson. “But we felt the arduous hours of climbing were well worth the effort for a very worthy cause. We were also delighted by the support of Signs Express who designed the livery for our vehicle.”

The Four Peaks Challenge, organised by the Wooden Spoon Society, has raised £13 million for disadvantaged children over the past 24 years – and £7 million in the past six years alone.

Voith Industrial Services has grown strongly over the past few years and provides services in four main areas – facility management, technical cleaning, wheel and tyre assembly, and managed processes.

Facilities management services include industrial and janitorial cleaning, grounds maintenance, security, building maintenance, waste management, and pest control.
Technical cleaning services include paint shop cleaning, and process plant and equipment cleaning.

Voith Industrial Services operates globally and is part of Voith GmbH, one of the largest family-owned businesses in Europe, operating in the paper, energy, mobility and service markets. Voith GmbH, with headquarters in Heidenheim, Germany, has nearly 40,000 employees in 280 locations in 50 countries worldwide, and has annual sales of € 5.6 billion.
