Voith Industrial Services strengthens business development team

Voith Industrial Services, a leading service provider to the UK transport industry, has appointed Adam Hart as part of its plans to further expand its growing business in the UK.

As a sales and business development manager Adam is planning to win further new business in the automotive sector where the company is well established.

Voith Industrial Services is the global leader in the technical cleaning of car plants’ paint shops and has over 60 contracts worldwide. The company has been carrying out technical cleaning for major automotive manufacturers in the UK for several years.

“We are now putting a greater focus on how our expertise in facilities management projects can be beneficial to key companies supplying the car manufacturers,” said Adam. “I am also investigating opportunities to expand our vehicle handling and preparation services.”

Adam, who reports to sales and business development director, Phil Spencer, studied mechanical engineering and thermodynamics at Leicester University before working in Valladolid in Spain for a casting company.

After a period in product design development for United Engineering Forging in Bromsgrove, Adam worked as a commercial manager for a Black Country precision forgings company before setting up as a freelance engineering consultant in forgings.

For the past 11 years he has been a business development manager for Thyssen Krupp in Coventry.

Phil Spencer said: “Voith Industrial Services is expanding its business in the UK and has recently broken into new markets like the bus sector. Adam will strengthen our team as we bring our technical expertise and services to more niche sectors in the UK automotive manufacturing sector.”

Adam, married with two young children, used to have a keen interest in motorcycle racing and took part in the British Championships in GP motorbikes. His current favourite sport is cycling and he competes in road racing and time trials for the Worcester St. John Cycle Club.
